DISNEY MUSICALS IN SCHOOLS- September 2019- March 2020.
Ashley is a Teaching Artist with Disney Musicals in Schools, building sustainable theater programs in under-resourced public elementary schools. By providing free performance materials and free professional development to participating teachers, Disney Musicals in Schools has helped schools across the country launch new theater programs.
It is a free program offered to a limited number of public elementary schools each year. Through the program schools receive free performance rights and ShowKit materials to a 30-minute Disney musical written for elementary school performers. Over the course of a semester, professional Teaching Artists guide school teachers through the process of mounting a musical with student performers. Our goal is to provide the training necessary for teachers to continue a tradition of theater education for years to come.

Ashley plays the title role in the the sweet story of a love triangle between empty-nesters Greg and Kate, and an adorable, completely irresistible mutt who will capture the hearts of audiences and strike fear into the hearts of squirrels (which are not allowed in the theatre, by the way). This deliciously dizzy production is a paean to pet-pals everywhere, and a reminder of our deep desire to “connect” in an increasingly busy, complicated and disconnected universe.
